Live to eat or eat to live. They are deeply connected.
If you have asked me five years ago what is food, I’d have answered you -
Food is just food. Food is what we need to keep going. We eat to live.
Today if you ask me again the same question, I’d have said -
Food keep us alive, but food also keep us alive. Without food, we’re nothing. Without food, we’re basically not-thing.
Being a chef, an entrepreneur in food business and a parent who is responsible in making sure her kids are nourished makes me even more conscious about how food is deeply connected to life. In living. In really living a good life.
Good food, good life is our value. Good food, good life is our belief. Good food, good life is undoubtedly our guiding light.
Living a good life is like making good food.
Friends have always asked —
“How did you make the food taste so good?”
“Well, it’s really very simple. Start with good and quality ingredients. Less is more. Choose what nourish. Then use the right technique plus a lot of love. Invest in good equipments. Cook happily. Cook together. And enjoy the labour.
Oh, also, trials and errors. Practice makes perfect!”
Doesn’t this sound like “Life”?
“Start with good thoughts and feelings. Less is more. Choose what nourish. Let go of what is toxic. Then use the right mindset plus a lot of love. Invest in memories and experience. Live happily. Stay together. And enjoy each other.
Oh, also, trials and errors. Practice makes perfect!”
